Psychosexual Therapy

Sexual problems are common and most people will experience a sexual problem or difficulty at some time in their life. There are many reasons why sexual difficulties arise and these can be physically or emotionally related and are often both. Sometimes the reason is unknown. Often the difficulty will resolve itself; sometimes help is needed. Psychosexual Therapy can help.

We are highly trained counsellors. Annie Law is accredited by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), formerly known as British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy (BASRT).

This means Annie has met the strict criteria in respect of training, experience, knowledge, ethical standards, clinical skills and commitment to continuous professional development and that we work to the Codes of Ethics and Principles of Good Practice for Members of the Association.

CPC Client

How the Service Works

You can call CP Counselling to ask for a Psychosexual Therapy appointment on 01793 339 482 or use our online form.

An appointment will be arranged for you to attend an initial assessment session to meet the therapist and discuss your particular sexual difficulty; you may then be invited to attend a further more detailed assessment appointment.

If our therapist feels that therapy will be the best way forward for you, treatment goals will be mutually agreed and a treatment plan will be designed for you by your therapist. You will be invited to carry out simple tasks at home as well as attending weekly sessions with the therapist. The tasks will be directly related to your particular difficulty designed to help you overcome your sexual problem.

You will never be asked to do anything sexual in the therapy session.

Anyone thinking of attending a Psychosexual Therapy session for the first time will undoubtedly have many questions. In response, we have produced a FAQ page in an effort to answer the most commonly asked questions based on previous client enquiries.

If you have a specific question that isn’t in our list, please feel free to Contact Us.
